CONNECT REIMAGINE will be utilizing the Hopin platform. Below you will find frequently asked questions, as well as information on how to get the best experience by familiarizing yourself with all that CONNECT REIMAGINE has to offer!

Code of Conduct

Women Who Code is dedicated to providing an empowering experience for everyone who participates in or supports our community. Our events are intended to inspire women to excel in technology careers, and anyone who is there for this purpose is welcome. Because we value the safety and security of our members and strive to have an inclusive community, we do not tolerate harassment of members or event participants in any form.

General Hopin Information

How can I prepare before the conference?

Create your profile by adding a profile picture to the avatar, put your title and company in headline, a short bio, and contact information including social media handles. Your profile is located at the top right of your screen.

Having your profile filled out will make it easier to connect and share information with sponsors and other participants during the conference especially in the Networking and Expo sections. If you prefer to opt out of sharing your information with other attendees, feel free to leave out a photo, turn off your video and use your initials instead of your name.

“What browser should I use to join CONNECT REIMAGINE?”

Hopin recommends using either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox for the best experience with their platform.

“What talks and sessions will be available at CONNECT REIMAGINE?”

Look through the speakers list, and begin to see what sessions and talks you might want to attend throughout both days. We have over 50 speakers to choose from, and more are still being added, with sessions based on career advancement, skills building, and new technology. There will be more added leading up to the conference.

“Will there be updates on social media?”

Yes, follow us on Twitter and Instagram for updates. Feel free to share about the conference before, during, and after using #CONNECTREIMAGINE. You can also watch past conference sessions on our YouTube channel, subscribe.

Day of Conference

“Is there an easy way to move from area to area in Hopin?”

Yes!  There’s a simple icon menu on the left-hand side of your screen where you can move to different areas of the event- Reception, Stage, Sessions, Networking, Expo.

Reception

Check the schedule of all sessions in Reception, and find what is happening now!

Stage

The Stage is where conference-wide talks will take place, most notably the opening and closing keynotes.

Sessions

In the Sessions area, you will find all lightning talks, technical talks and workshops. You can filter and search for sessions by topics you’re interested in attending. Sessions will have multiple speakers or moderators, double-clicking on a specific screen will allow you to enlarge it and bring it into focus. While watching the presentation, you can type comments and questions into the Session chat for everyone to see, type questions for the presenter in the Q&A, or hide the Chat section to focus on the presentation.

“How can I find the sessions happening now?”

Visit the Reception area to find the schedule. When choosing your sessions you can also filter them based on topics you’re interested in. You can filter to find stacks and topics of your interests easier, and also enter talks you’re looking for into the search bar.

“I missed the talk I really wanted to see! Will CONNECT Digital be recorded?”

Yes! All talks will be on the Women Who Code YouTube Channel two weeks after the event.

“Is there a limit on the number of attendees in a particular session?”

Yes. The Stage can accommodate all attendees and each Session can accommodate 500 attendees. If you are unable to view a Session because it has hit the limit of attendees, please wait and try again in a few minutes.

Expo/Sponsors

“Will there be an opportunity to learn about sponsors?”

Yes! Visit the expo area where each of our partners will have a virtual booth. Click on the company booth you’re interested in to engage with employees from the company to learn about the culture and potential career opportunities. You can also schedule a meeting, and leave your information to be reached out to directly, be sure your profile is updated with contact information.

“I’m looking for a job. Can I upload my resume to share with companies?”

Yes! Please upload your resume here. It is also recommended that you put your LinkedIn profile link and a link to your resume (if you have it) in the website area on your profile for quick and easy access for recruiters. Our job board is always available and updated as a resource for job seekers.

Networking

Will there be opportunities to Network?

Yes! There will be the chance to make CONNECTions with fellow attendees by clicking on the ‘Networking’ button between sessions. You will be randomly paired with another participant and chat for 3 minutes. You have the option to exchange info with the click of a button so you can continue to Network post-CONNECT Digital!

To exchange info during your networking session, hit the “CONNECT” button at the bottom of the screen.

You’ll find your connections who mutually opt in on your dashboard.

You can also send an invitation for video call, schedule a meeting, or direct message to someone you connect with during talks and sessions.

Chats/Polls/People

Chat allows you to send messages throughout the event.  The general chat is visible to all participants in the conference, you can @ someone to speak directly to them in the chat. The Expo booths and Sessions will have their own individual chats. You will occasionally see important messages from organizers popping up on the chat.

The Polls tab is where we will be asking you for your feedback during the event using live polls.

The People tab lists all participants that have joined the event. You can send a direct message to any participant by clicking on their name.

“What if I have a question about CONNECT REIMAGINE during the event?”

If at any point during the day you have a question or a concern about CONNECT REIMAGINE, please email connect@womenwhocode.com. We have a help desk in the Expo that will run for the entirety of the event, so feel free to drop your question into the chat and a member of our team will be happy to help you!

Post Conference

“How do I get my saved connections after the conference?”

You can log into Hopin after the conference to see your connections and follow-up.

“How can I send feedback about CONNECT REIMAGINE?”

There will be an email sent to attendees after the conference to request feedback and help us plan for the next conference. You can also email connect@womenwhocode.com.

“How soon will conference talks and sessions be available on YouTube?”

You can expect to see videos uploaded to Youtube within two weeks after the conference.

“If I’m not a member, how can I join WWCode?”
